This Saturday I spent a lovely day with friends from The Sorting Office at The Old Chemist in Bitterne. The space is owned by the Southampton Vineyard Church and used for community events. It's a beautiful building, with elegant curved stained glass windows and a beautiful wooden floor.
This weekend we were invited by Gina Hyams, to join their table-top sale and promote our art studios there. We took along a good range of the type of work that is produced by our artists. Sheena Bond, a ceramist, displayed her beautiful bowls and mugs, Karen Head, felt maker, extraordinaire treated the public to her range of felt scarves (the softest you will ever find btw) and her fabulous felted pebble kits. Iris Hill showed her latest and stunning collection of Christmas cards and Joanne Tinley Jewellery showed her beautiful silver jewellery and promoted her jewellery workshops. Jill Brennan quilter, textile artist and painter (wow!) brought long her beautiful cards and textile art and Carly Mann's glass art took centre stage at one of Carly's final shows in the UK for a while (she is off to New Zealand!)
Lovely customers, lovely venue and a lovely host - Thank you Gina for making us all feel so welcome.
Look what amazingly clever and talented friends I have!!:)
